Shannon qualified as a solicitor in 2005, and has previously worked in provincial legal practices in the Waikato region and Queensland. Raised in the Wairarapa, Shannon welcomes the challenges and diversity of working in a provincial law firm – a jack of all trades by nature, Shannon’s role at Gawith Burridge will see him working alongside other members of the team in all areas of general legal practice.

Helen joined us in April 2015 after spending a number of years practising in New Zealand and overseas as a patent attorney specialising in chemical and pharmaceutical patent law. Helen has a law degree from Victoria University and a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Auckland, and is a registered New Zealand patent attorney. She was admitted to the bar in 2015. Helen now works in all areas of general practice and also retains a strong interest in intellectual property law. Helen is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Patent Attorneys.

Leah joined us in September 2015 after returning from 2 ½ years in London. She has a law degree from the University of Otago and was admitted to the bar in 2008. Leah practiced law in Wellington for 5 years, initially in all areas of general practice and then with a focus on property and construction law . Leah now works in all areas of general practice

Dean was admitted to the bar in 1997. Dean has previously practiced for national law firms in New Zealand together with overseas stints in Australia and the UK. Dean in the last few years has worked as senior legal counsel for a number of commercial institutions managing their litigation files. Dean enjoys dealing with and working with clients and is substantially the reason for his move back into private practice.

Christopher graduated with a degree in Law from the University of Otago in 2016 and was admitted to the bar in 2017. Born in Gisborne and raised in Southern Hawkes Bay, Christopher enjoys provincial New Zealand and looks forward to work, life and rugby in the Wairarapa. Christopher works in various areas of general practice.
Alice joined us in March 2013 as a Personal Assistant. She now works as a Legal Executive at the firm, with a focus on estate administration. Alice is currently working towards completing her papers to become a Registered Legal Executive.

Kate joined us in May 2017 after graduating from Victoria University with a law degree. She has a background in tax but will be working in all areas of general practice. Kate is particularly interested in farm conveyancing, rural law and asset planning and is looking forward to being part of the Wairarapa community.

Kylie joined Gawith Burridge in August 2017.
Attracted to law since starting as a legal secretary in 1993, she commenced her law studies in 2003 whilst also undertaking a five year articled clerkship with a large law firm on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
Kylie then took a career break to focus on her young family and returned to New Zealand. She was admitted to the bar under the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition scheme in 2017.
Kylie continues to have a special interest in estate administration but enjoys all areas of general practice.

Nick joined us in 2018 and comes with an extensive investigative and prosecutorial background. Originally from the Manawatu, he moved to the Wairarapa in 2010, where his wife has strong family connections. Nick looks forward to working in all areas of general practice but has a particular interest in employment law and health and safety.
